Well A Few Good Men certainly has some star power! Featuring Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and supported by Kevin Bacon and Cuba Gooding Jr this is an impressive cast.
The plot itself revolves around two US marines who is court martialed for the death of a young recruit. Private Santiago just wasn’t cutting it at marine training. Not in training nor getting along with other troops. He reqested a transfer and went over the chain of command. Santiago is then subjected to a “code red” an unofficial and extreme punishment carried out by fellow troops. This of course results in Santiago’s death.
The ensuing legal battle between the commanding officers, the court and the officers that carried out the “code red” is too complex to describe in full in this article. And really I want you to watch it for yourself! Basically it pitches the legal rights of the private vs. the responsibility of the defence force to have the best possible troops.
All in all there’s some stellar performances on offer here, the dialogue in incredible and this movie is magnificently produced. I can’t fault it on anything. If you like legal movies this is definitely one to watch. But really If you like any kind of movie this is worth checking out.
